Sea slugs are such compelling ambassadors for the colour, diversity and amazing adaptations of the life just below the surface in the northeast Pacific Ocean.

Presenter is MERS team member Jackie, also known as The Marine Detective. She will share her photos and conservation messaging about sea slug species found off the coast of British Columbia.

Please note that content will be appropriate for all ages but the educational approach will be aimed at elementary school students (and they will be the priority for discussion and answering questions). ☺️
Jackie is a cofounder of our Marine Education and Research Society. She is a Humpback Researcher and our Education and Communications Director.

She is driven to create awareness of the life-sustaining importance of the Ocean and, positive action for the beauty, mystery, and fragility hidden in the cold, dark waters of our coast.

Now living on northern Vancouver Island in Kwakwaka'wakw Territory, Jackie had the following roles in the Netherlands: biology teacher, international school administrator, and science curriculum writer for the International Baccalaureate.

On-camera experience includes work with PBS, Animal Planet, and the BBC.
